A fork in the road

Somewhere this year I also aplied to some graphic design schools but I didnt hear anything from them and just now when I started my internship I got the message I was accepted D:. I didnt know… I think I was just too busy with IT and trying to find a internship.

well, now, what should I do? IT will take me atleast one year or more but I could also start at a new school (which doesnt start untill somewhere next year). should I just quit IT? to be honest I dont even like it that much, it’s fun and all but my heart isnt in it. I do love to design and draw alot! I really wish I could become a animator, gamedesigner or even a architect! and im afraid that this ”for now” IT school is taking up too much time I could spend in getting ready, making a portfolio and saving for a awesome macbook. I might even try apply for the ”HKU” High School for Art (?).

I’m leaning to follow my dreams and go back to the graphics, too bad I didnt gain anything in the 3 years of IT i ”wasted” >____<

Internship

As of tomorrow I’ll be starting my internship at an elementary school. I’m kind of sad that the vacation is over because there’s still so much to do! But on the other hand I’m kind of excited to get to know the new people and the new working environment! I can learn alot of new stuff there besides IT, like how to react in the presence of kids and how to handle certain problems. I’m still not sure about the lenght of this internship but it should be around 6 months.

Wish me luck! and good luck to the rest of you who just started their studies/work ^^!

Pokémon Day 2010.

Yesterday (August 28) was Pokémon day! and of course, I’m there as always! again with my girlfriend and my sister and now with her boyfriend! Even though it was a really rainy day and no event pokemon for download we had a exciting day! I really liked christian farla’s show he really is the ”Master of Illusion” I’m really into these things and when I was a kid I spend a few years learning those magic tricks and I still know quite a few. Other than that we went into some water rides, Nintendo Gaming Area, ferris wheel and played at the arcades.

at the end of the day we still managed to get the goodie bag with the exclusive pokémon trading card.
It’s really stupid that they set the age to 11 years old but there are still alot of people who are collectors or just like pokémon because of its nostalgia and amazing history of gaming like me.

also, the creator of pokémon Satoshi Tajiri celebrates his 45th birthday on the same day!
and together with my birthday wishes to him and my idol Michael jackson here are some fun facts about the mastermind behind Pokémon!

* At 16, he won a game design contest sponsored by Nintendo’s then rival, Sega
* At 17, he started a do-it-yourself arcade gaming mag called “Game Freak”, which would eventually grow into the game development company that created Pokemon
* Tajiri has been diagnosed of Asperger Syndrome
* Pokemon was inspired by Tajiri’s hobby of collecting bugs. At one time, he saw a bug crawling across the link cable of two kids playing GameBoy, so that’s where the idea stemmed from.
* His favorite Pokemon is Poliwhirl
* When the original Pokemon was in development, Tajiri was mentored by the great Shigeru Miyamoto, who he already admired before then. For that reason, the Japanese release had Ash named as “Satoshi”, and Gary as “Shigeru”
* Game Freak nearly went bankrupt while developing Pokemon Red and Green (Red and Blue in the US). Five employees quit and they were barely able to pay the remaining staff. Tajiri did not take any salary during that time and was supported by his father.
