The Last of Us is a highly anticipated Survival horror action-adventure game by Naughty Dog. You might know them from the awesome Uncharted series, Crash Bandicoot
and more! In The Last of Us you take control of Joel who has to cross the United States with Ellie. The year is 2033 and the the world is not what it used to be
people are sick, dead or just gone and everything is taken over by either bandits, the army or zombie-like creatures, Human being infected with a plant-like virus.
In The Last of Us you can craft items to survive but I’ll tell more about this later.
Story
Like I said before, you are Joel, a survivor in the year 2033 after your encounter with a rebel group it’s your duty to bring Ellie to the others. The cause of the infection is unknown, all we know is it will change you, one bite is enough. There’s not much to tell about the story without spoiling stuff to be honest. It has it’s tense, sad, funny and even cliche moments and you just have to trust me that this story has everything to make it this good.
Gameplay
The gameplay is what makes this game so freakin’ good! You will have the option to stealth past enemies or take them down. You will find materials everywhere, upgrade your weapons and even yourself. Find pipes, bricks, bottle, baseball bats, knifes and all kinds of weapons! Be sure to upgrade them because you WILL need it!Joel can use his hearing to “see” through walls and prepare for an attack, and if you do it right they won’t even know you were there.
There are also multiple kinds of enemies, do not worry! But I don’t want to spoil the surprise so I won’t tell anything about them, sorry!
Another thing about this game I REALLY liked is that there’s mostly different ways to handle a situation. You can go on a full-out attack (if you have the ammo of course), kill everything one by one or you can throw bricks or bottles into a room to distract everyone and sneak past them without harming a thing.
And like I said before, you can use almost everything around you. Near a door? smash someones face between it, push someone against a wall while throwing a brick in his face, you need to survive right?
The AI on the other hand might be a little but “dumb” sometimes whenever you are spotted all hell breaks lose but when one of your partners yells or runs past someone or something 99% of the time the enemies won’t see a thing… They are also not the best helpers, don’t get me wrong, there are moments where they saved my ass, but some other times I yelled at them for just standing around.
All in all, this game must be the best experience with stealth and action I ever had.
Graphics
The graphics are the one of the best available on the Playstation 3 and a huge improvement over the Uncharted series, some textures seem a little bit low res but we’ve been spoiled by all the next gen games lately so it doesn’t bother me that much. Most areas look really immersive though, broken down buildings, plant life, and the weather all look really realistic.
While fighting or walking through certain weather you will notice it on your screen, blood splatters on the screen for example. The parts that are meant to feel creepy are really creepy and some parts are so compact that I let my friend (Xenavire on this blog) play it, I just couldn’t handle it with my claustophobia, and I think that’s a really good thing.
Music
To be honest I haven’t really noticed the music of the game, because everything is really immersive and suits the areas.
When you sneak, have the music turned up you WILL freak out! The voice actors are top notch though, Troy Baker is one of my favourite voice actors,
he’s also the voice of Booker Dewitt(bioshock) and Kanji (Persona 4). Ellie (voiced by Ashley Johnson) is doing a awesome job too!
Overall
Overall, The last of Us is a solid experience and one of the best I had in a while. It started out a bit boring but after you have played for a few hours you don’t want to stop.
You will see Joel and Ellie’s relationship grow and feel for them, you will be afraid, freak out, feel sad, laugh and sometimes be really annoyed.
Naughty Dog has really outdone themselves and I can’t wait to see what they will bring to the Playstation 4.
I haven’t had a chance to try the multiplayer yet, but for now, The Last of Us is a experience you can not skip.
Also, if you do not have a PS3 or if you are still not conviced check out our Youtube! Starting June 14th I will upload our Let’s play/walkthrough!
So today “The Last of Us” Press Kit arrived! And it’s pretty awesome! It’s a numbered Limited Edition, I have 1640/2505. And it contains the following:
-Special Case with sleeve
-Mini art book + manual
-Media Assets Qr Code
-DLC Survival Kit
-OST (on a USB Stick)
I’ve played about an hour and so far the game is amazing! The atmosphere and music really suits the theme and it even has some “scary jump moments” haha…
I’ve noticed you don’t HAVE to shoot, in fact it’s better to sneak around and doing so is so much cooler! The combat in this game is the best I’ve seen so far! It’s just so realistic! I also like the fact that you you need to find for example, a ladder to reach certain places and work together with the AI. Oh, and I love Joel’s character! one of the reasons is because we share the same name haha. I haven’t played enough to judge the game and have a full review up yet, but once I (or one of us) has we’ll write one!
We’ll also make youtube videos, probably a walkthrough/let’s play and some multiplayer videos which you can find on our youtube.
Xenavire here, and I’m here to talk about Hex.
Hex is taking the TCG, MMO, and Kickstarter worlds by storm. In only nine days, they have raised $750,000 USD – and there is a good reason why.
Cryptozoic. They are a young but ambitious company (founded in March 2010), they already have an impressive list of accomplishments, from board games to various TCG’s, most notably WoWTCG (which they inherited from Upper Deck.)
Not only do they have experience as a company, they have staff members who come from many different but fantastic backgrounds, dealing in TCG’s of all kinds, MMO’s, and of course boardgames – all important to the development of Hex.
Why is all this so important you ask? PvE. Yes, a TCG with an MMO style PvE experience, including raiding. Having seen the layout of a few dungeons, you can see boardgame influences, making for a unique flow and replayability.
Want to get loot? Not a problem. In fact, the more of a dungeon you explore, the more chance at loot you get. But don’t think you can just farm all the loot, oh no, there is a risk involved. Three strikes is all you will have, so make every win count – if you don’t beat the boss you don’t get your loot!
Want to play with friends? Feel free! The raid mode is for you and two friends, working together against an epic boss! And with class roles, champions and henchmen ,and thousands of possible deck combinations, and even equipment, no two runs will ever be the same!
Ah, what about PvP you ask? Fear not! The first set will include 300+ cards, and will be available for use in PvE (but don’t go trying to bring those PvE cards to PvP – they are too crazy!) With tons of tournament options, from drafts to constructed, duels and match play, and tons more to be added after launch, there will be more than any PvP player could ever ask for!
And what will it all cost you ask? Well, that depends – PvE will be completely free to play, so if you want to, you can try the game, or even make a full raiding team and play for free, whenever you want! PvP players will have small fee’s for boosters (although PvE players can opt to buy these highly useful cards also) and will have small entrance fee’s depending on the content they want to play.
Next, let’s talk about the economy. There will be premium currency, and basic in-game currency earnable through PvE, and there will be auction houses for both, so no matter how you prefer to play, you can take part in exciting bids for powerful cards!
You might be saying to yourself, there can’t possibly be any more to hear, right? Wrong! From making alliances with in-game races, to double backs, to crafting, to socketing cards, to special guild tournaments and free-for-all tournaments where anything goes, to crazy PvP modes and PvE champion levelling systems, there is more depth to this game than just a simple TCG.
Now, if you have seen the kickstarter, you might be asking yourself, why should I pledge? Well, first is guaranteed beta access in September, so you can get your hands on this fantastic game long before release. And each tier of rewards has more and more goodies in store, from promotional one-off cards to lifetime rewards, there is something for everyone. And if greed isn’t your thing, you help support the game and help the devs add more content in that should be ready for launch day! It really is a win-win, no matter how you look at it.
So why are you still reading? You think there is something else I need to say? Of course there is – go check out the Hex forums and the thriving community, the kickstart page, and the official websites of Cryptozoic, and make your pledge today!
Whenever I get my hands on Animal Crossing New Leaf I’ll be posting a Journal on this tumblr! of course I’ll post the important stuff here too (for example Spotpass Items) the game will be released June 14th here in Europe and I’ll start as soon as I can get my hands on a copy! I know a lot of bloggers are lucky to get their hands on a promotion copy but I didn’t (maybe, hopefully I’ll still get one? if Nintendo is reading this?….. haha. oh well, check it out for my daily, weekly, monthly Animal Crossing Adventures!

Bioshock Infinite is a First-person shooter by Irrational Games and the third installment in the BioShock series.
Being the third installment, Infinite is not part of the previous games but if features similar gameplay, themes amd more.
Bioshock infinite has bean released worldwide on March 26 2013 on PC, Xbox360 and Playstation 3.
Story [10]
In bioshock Infinite you are a former Pinkerton agent named Booker DeWitt, he’s sent to the floating city of Columbia to find a young woman named Elizabeth, who has been held captive there for over 12 years, she also holds strange powers to manipulate “tears” in the time-space continuum. On your journey to rescue her, and even after you did, the two of you will be pursued by the city’s factions. The city is inhibited by the founders that want to keep the city for pure Americans and the Vox Populi, a rebel group representing the common people and for some reason Elizabeth is the center of it all… There’s much, much more to tell but you should find that out yourself!
Gameplay [8.0]
Like it’s previous installments Bioshock infinite is a First-person shooter with Role-playing elements. Throughout the game you will find weapons which you can upgrade at the many vending machines throughout the game. Similar to the “plasmids” in the previous Bioshock games, in Columbia you will find Vigors these “potions” will activate special powers like controlling machines, electricity, fire and more.
Booker is also able to equip clothing which grand special abilities or boosts. Another new feature is the “sky-hook” which is not only a weapon but the citizens of Columbia use this to travel on the many skylines through and around the city, you are able to use these skylines to your advantage in gunfights. This time the game has four heavy-hitters like the “handy-man” and “Motorized Patriot” similar to the “Big-daddies” in the previous bioshiock games you will go “oh Shi–” when you notice one running at you.
Also, Infinte got rid of the potions and replaced it with a regenerating shield. You can find food and “salts” to regenerate health and Vigor usage through out the game and on dead bodies.
You can equip two weapons and two Vigors but you can switch the vigors at any time once you retreive them.
Graphics [9.5]
The graphics are just stunning, the art style, the people and the city are so alive! The mood will always suit with the situation dark places feel scary and the open area’s are amazing! When I first met Elizabeth it felt like I was watching a Disney movie (in a good way) and you will meet more people who make you think the same way.
Afraid your pc can’t handle it? I’m playing on a low to mid-end PC and even on the “Very Low” settings the game still looks stunning! I’ts awesome how 2013′s “very low” look like a 2010′s “Ultra” Irrational games did a amazing job! I wish more companies would make their games compatible for people with low-end pc’s.
Music [9.5]
Bioshock’s music has always been really, really good and this time it’s not different! It’s soundtrack is orchestraded like it’s produced for a high-buget movie.
Besides their own creations Bioshock always has those “music of the era” songs and they did it again! After playing this game you’ll think different about songs like “God knows”, “will the circle be unbroken” and “Girls Just wanna have fun” but that’s a good thing!
Here’s a video I recorded today, this is one of the many musical aspects you can find in the game!
Overall [9.5]
Bioshock is one of those games you can not miss, and it feels like a new generation of story telling has been born. The graphics, gameplay, music and story blend together in a experience you won’t forget. Besides the minor issues like a lot of npc’s looking exactly the same and no backtracking the game’s story itself will make up for that and I can easily say this game has already a major chance of becoming game of the year. If you are a fan of the Bioshock series, Zero escape, Doctor who, Back to the future or just science fiction in general you can not miss this game, go get it! go play it NOW!

My phone’s plan is about to end in a few months, but I decided to extend the plan and replace my old phone! I used to have a Samsung Galaxy S, and a iPhone 3G even before that but I’m sticking to samsung with their Samsung Galaxy S3! Loving it so far, and it’s a major upgrade compared to me previous smartphone even though the S4 is announced today haha. Not much has been going on so I’m not updating that often and the last few months I’ve been sick a lot too ;_;.
As for video games, currently still playing World of Warcraft casually with some Ragnarok Odyssey and Persona 4: Golden on the side! you should check those games out, even though the Vita isn’t doing amazing but both of those games are must-buys for the fans! Also, PS4 has been announced and lot’s of other stuff! check out my twitter @chopsixzz for the little news-flashes I don’t have time for to post on here >_< !
